FRAMINGHAM-Sister Catherine Gorman, CSJ (Sister Xaverio), a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 69 years, died Saturday, September 7, 2013. Daughter of the late Edward J. and Elizabeth (Lynch) Gorman and sister of the late Rev. Edward J. Gorman, SJ, Gerard J. Gorman, and John T. Gorman. Survived by her sister-in –law Margaret A. Gorman, her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great grandniece as well as her devoted cousins and dear friends. Formerly missioned as an elementary school teacher at Sacred Heart, Watertown; St. Benedict, Somerville; St. Mary, Charlestown; St. Raphael, Medford; and St. Agatha, Milton as well as serving as Principal at St. Tarcisius, Framingham and St. William, Dorchester. Sister Catherine ministered as a music teacher in various schools including the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and St. Edward School in Brockton.
Visiting hours at St. Joseph Chapel, Fontbonne Convent, 444 Centre Street, Milton, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Prayer Service at 6:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at 6:15 pm. Burial will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 10:00 am. All will meet at St. Patrick Cemetery, 44 East Central St., Natick, MA. Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, Framingham.
